Our campus features 6 state-of-the-art homes with capacity for 10 elders, each with their own private room and bath.

    Responsibilities

    Currently, Autumn Heights is seeking a Full Time RESIDENT SERVICES DIRECTOR at their 125 bed skilled nursing community located in Denver, CO.  

    The primary responsibility of your job position is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Social Services Department following the current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern long term care and assisted living facilities.   You are entrusted to ensure that the medically related and emotional social needs of the resident are met and maintained on an individual basis.

     

     This team will report directly to you. A successful RESIDENT SERVICES DIRECTOR in our community has these traits and attributes:

     

    • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., necessary for providing quality care and maintaining a sound operation
    • Must be a certified therapeutic recreation specialist or an activities professional who is licensed by this state and is eligible for certification as a recreation specialist or as an activities professional; or must have, as a minimum, two (2) years experience in a social or recreation program within the last five (5) years, one (1) of which was full-time in a patient activities program in a healthcare setting; or must be a qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant; or must have completed a training course approved by this state.
    • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully when personnel, residents, family members,visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
    • Comfortable with educating others how to engage in strong, caring relationships on an individual basis and in small and large social events 
    • A basic understanding of how to engage those living with dementia, mental health,alcohol/drug addiction, post-traumatic injuries and physical disabilities

    Qualifications

    • Must possess, as a minimum, two (2) years of college. Degree preferred but not necessary.
    • Must be a certified therapeutic recreation specialist or an activities professional who is licensed by this state and is eligible for certification as a recreation specialist or as an activities professional; or must have, as a minimum, two (2) years experience in a social or recreation program within the last five (5) years, one (1) of which was full-time in a patient activities program in a healthcare setting; or must be a qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant; or must have completed a training course approved by this state.
    • Knowledgeable about assessments and care planning, and all applicable state and federal regulations, guidelines and policies
    • Familiar with and able to access services and resources in the larger community that can be of benefit to those living in our community
    • A basic understanding of how to engage those living with dementia, mental health,alcohol/drug addiction, post-traumatic injuries and physical disabilities
    • Comfortable with educating others how to engage in strong, caring relationships on an individual basis and in small and large social events
    • Comfortable working with individuals and leading small and large social events
    • Skills in facilitating the planning, budgeting, organizing, coordinating and following-through on larger events for the community
    • Relationship building skills that draw the whole care partner team together, creating strong connections throughout the home so everyone becomes well-known to one another
    • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
    • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully when personnel, residents, family members,visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
    • Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served
    • Must possess the ability to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
    • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., necessary for providing quality care and maintaining a sound operation
    • Must be able to communicate, policies, procedures, regulations, reports, etc., to personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies/personnel
    • Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices
    • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individual in the workplace
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
